Over the last year, I have developed a love for fitness - that's right, you heard it! Don't get me wrong, I'm not one to jump out of bed and go for a run at 7am but I have discovered, tried and tested many ways of moving my body and finding something I enjoy for myself.

There's nothing worse than begrudging doing something, finding excuses are so easy and just having a can't be bothered moment! We've all been there and that's ok!

With lockdown after lockdown and further restrictions, exercise was a consistent routine for me. From exploring on daily walks to jumping on the Joe Wicks videos to dancing to ABBA while cooking tea, for once I really felt the value and benefit to move my body, stop scrolling on my phone and making time for me.

It doesn't have to be exercise but just making time for yourself is so important and especially at the moment as we struggle to keep going. Whatever it may be, be kind to yourself, it's ok to feel lost and deflated, but use it as an opportunity to reflect on the blessings you do have and the achievements you have made – even if it's just getting through week by week!

Know that God is always there for you and how lucky are we to have God by our side cheering us on through it all!

Safe Spaces

Safe Spaces is a free and independent support service, providing a confidential, personal and safe space for anyone who has been abused through their relationship with either the Church of England, Church in Wales or the Catholic Church of England and Wales.

Safe Spaces comprises a team of trained support advocates, who have undergone specialist training in supporting survivors of sexual violence and who have received additional specific training in how the churches respond to abuse cases, the way in which faith and church-related settings have been used to carry out abuse, and the particular issues affecting people who have had or still have, a relationship with the church.

The service is for those who may have experienced any form of abuse, including sexual abuse, physical abuse, financial abuse, psychological abuse (including spiritual abuse), domestic abuse, coercive and controlling behaviour.
